Do Golden Doodles have papers?
No. These beautiful furry friends are considered muts and they are not recognized by the AKC (American Kennel Club).
How big will my puppy get?
Our Standard Goldendoodles are generally in the 50-70lbs range. However, please keep in mind that doodles are a hybrid and not a “standardized breed” and it is important to note that specific sizes cannot be guaranteed for an adult dog. We estimate puppies adult weight by averaging the weights of their specific parents.
How do you adopt one of your puppies?
Our process is to place families on new litters in the order we receive deposits. Once a litter is born, we will send out litter information containing parent pictures, your pick of the litter, pictures of the puppies, their birth date and anticipated going home date. We will send out photos at birth, 3 and 6 1/2 weeks so that you can watch the puppies grow! All immunizations and dewormings are done per vet’s schedule and socialization starts the day the puppies are born. Our babies are given much human handling.
At 8 weeks when your puppy is ready to go home, they will have been wormed twice, up to date on their shots, micro-chipped, and have a two-year health guarantee. We work diligently to help you feel completely prepared and ready once it’s time to transition the puppy from our home to yours.
It is relatively easy to provide everyone with a gentle-natured Goldendoodle because our puppies take this quality from their parents. Our puppies are well known for sweet dispositions and people-loving personalities.
Do the puppies shed? What about coat types?
It is impossible for us to 100% guarantee that our puppies won’t “shed”. Actually, it is impossible for any breeder to promise you that. Consider that claim a red flag. Most first generation Goldendoodles will loose lightly; some can have moderate shedding. F1 Goldendoodles are compatible for most families with MILD allergies. Most F1 Goldendoodles will have plush, loose wavy coats. Occasionally, an F1 breeding will produce a more curly coat. We believe the coat of the mother has a lot to do with the puppies coat type. Also note, dog allergies can consist more that shedding. One could be allergic to dog salvia or dander. Please do research on what particular allergy you suffer from. If you are allergic to dog salvia a Goldendoodle will still cause a reaction, same as any other breed.
F1B’s can have a variety of coat types including, loose wavy or curly.
Can I visit my puppy?
The health of our dogs and puppies is important to us so we take every precaution to protect them. Unfortunately, young puppies don’t have fully developed immune systems and are susceptible to life-threatening illnesses, including Parvo. When diseases like Parvo strike, they can kill a whole litter in a matter of hours. Disease germs can be carried on people’s clothing and shoes. For this reason, we ask that you “visit” us online, rather than in person.
Thank you for helping us protect the health of our puppies and your potential family member.
When can I pick up my puppy?
Puppies must be 8 weeks old before going home to their new families. After you pick up your puppy we ask that you do not go places where there may have been dogs who you don’t know (apartment grounds, pet stores, parks, rest areas, hotels, walks in the front yard, dog friendly restaurants, etc.) until after the proper vaccinations have had time to take effect. The parvo virus can live in the ground for up to a year in the ground and up to a month indoors. If you live in an apartment, please plan on having a sod patch or puppy grass patch on your patio to avoid exposing your puppy to the deadly virus.
What should I bring to pick up my puppy?
You may want to bring a small crate or basket to carry your puppy in. Plastic bags and paper towels are a good idea just in case the puppy gets car sick.
